In the shadows of a city steeped in secrets, Grungni, the forge-god of the duardin, gathers a disparate fellowship: a haunted aelven assassin, a duardin exile, a cryptic prophet, and warriors both noble and damned. United not by trust, but by necessity, they are tasked with finding and sealing away the first of these dread weapons—the Spear of Shadows—before it falls into the hands of Chaos.

But others seek the Spear: champions of the Dark Gods, monstrous warbands, and worse still, things that move in the dark places between realms.
